The exhibition will “examine punk’s impact on high fashion from the movement’s birth in the 1970s through to its continuing influence today” and features pieces by a number of big names of the fashion world, including several from The Conceptual Chic Collection, 1977-8, by Zandra Rhodes.

The exhibition’s curator, Andrew Bolton, had been considering a punk exhibition for some time and describes how “the first time it was adopted into high fashion was really with Zandra Rhodes in 1977 (WWD, 2012).”
Zandra Rhodes was also seen wearing one of her punk-inspired outfits at The Costume Institute Gala to celebrate the launch of the exhibition on 6th May 2013.
